Personal Care Aide

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support and care to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and community-based environments. In this role, you will assist residents with daily activities, monitor their health and well-being, and ensure a safe, comfortable environment. Responsibilities

• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance using equipment like Hoyer lifts or manual handling techniques.
• Monitor residents’ vital signs, observe changes in health status, and report findings according to care plans while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
• Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption to promote proper nutrition.
• Support medication administration under supervision or as trained, ensuring accuracy and adherence to prescribed schedules.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning duties, laundry support, and infection control practices.
• Observe residents’ behavior and condition, especially those with dementia or neurodevelopmental disorders like autism or intellectual disabilities, documenting any concerns or changes.
• Follow care plans meticulously, participate in team meetings, and collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient-centered support.

Requirements

• Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, or other memory-related conditions.
• Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration procedures, and vital signs monitoring.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards related to patient information.
• Experience in caregiving roles involving manual handling equipment such as Hoyer lifts or assisting with ADLs.
• Strong background in geriatrics, hospice care, social work support, or long-term care settings is advantageous.
• Ability to perform light to heavy lifting safely and effectively while maintaining proper body mechanics.
