Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, transferring, and mobility
- Engage patients in meaningful conversation, companionship, and social interaction
- Respond promptly to patient needs and requests for care
- Observe and report changes in physical, emotional, or mental condition to a licensed nurse
- Complete required documentation, including incident reports and change-of-condition reports
- Prepare and serve meals; assist with eating (excluding tube feeding)
- Support self-administration of medications as directed
- Change bed linens and maintain a clean, safe immediate living environment (bedroom and bathroom)
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required
- CPR certification is preferred
- Previous experience working with elderly individuals in a residential, long-term care, or home health setting is preferred
- A compassionate, dependable, and patient-centered mindset is essential
- Strong communication and observation skills are required
