About the role

Wells Fargo is seeking an Associate Personal Banker (SAFE) for their National Branch Network within the Consumer Banking and Lending division. This role involves delivering exceptional customer experience by building relationships through proactive outreach and proposing appropriate products, services, and digital solutions to help customers succeed financially. Key responsibilities include assisting customers with account openings, service requests, and credit applications, providing guidance on bank products and services, and referring customers to other bankers and partners as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Build relationships through proactive outreach and customer engagement
  • Propose and present appropriate products, services, and digital solutions to help customers achieve their financial goals
  • Avoid offering or negotiating terms for mortgage transactions
  • Handle basic customer requests related to account management and service requests
  • Connect customers to technology and mobile banking options
  • Offer introductions to other team members as appropriate
  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet customer needs
  • Identify potential fraud and take appropriate action to prevent loss
  • Interact with integrity and professionalism with customers and team members

Requirements

  • 6+ months of interacting with customers experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • Bilingual speaking and listening proficiency in Spanish/English

  • Customer service focus with experience handling complex transactions across multiple systems
  • Proactive engagement with customers through outreach via phone or email
  • Ability to educate and connect customers to technology and share the value of mobile banking options
  • Experience fostering and developing strong customer relationships
  • Ability to follow policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Ability to identify potential fraud/risky accounts and take appropriate action to prevent loss
  • Ability to interact with integrity and professionalism with customers and team members
  • Relevant military experience including working with military protocol and instructions, enlisted evaluations, officer/leadership reporting
  • Relevant military experience including working in personnel benefits management, processing military personnel orders or transitions, wartime readiness operations, human resources or military recruiting
  • Proficient with proactively sourcing, acquiring, building, and maintaining relationships with customers and colleagues

Job Expectations

  • Ability to work a schedule that may include most Saturdays
  • Maintain cash drawer, cash handling, and balancing
  • Take and pass required language assessment
  • Meet applicable financial responsibility, character, general financial fitness, and criminal background standards
  • Successfully complete SAFE registration at the time of employment
  • Comply with all applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures
