Personal Banker
Responsibilities
- Winning new business and consumer deposit and loan relationships.
- Deepening existing relationships by delivering exceptional customer service.
- Building foundational sales, service, and relationship management skills.
- Supporting branch operations and assisting clients with their financial needs.
- Developing skills to effectively navigate WaFd systems, engage clients through consultative conversations, and identify solutions that support customers’ financial goals.
- Working toward completing WaFd’s foundational certifications, supporting ongoing professional development and career advancement within WaFd.
- Building skills toward a solid knowledge base of bank products and services to maintain rapport with clients, understand their needs, and provide solutions - with the goal of bringing new deposit and loan relationships to the bank.
- Aiding clients with their banking needs, opening new accounts, discussing and referring or originating loans, and onboarding new clients.
- Making out-of-office calls and visits to businesses, community organizations, and referral sources as assigned by leadership.
- Introducing and demonstrating digital and self-service options to clients.
- Contributing to strategies to help expand the small business and consumer client base.
- Communicating clearly with staff and clients verbally, over the phone, and via video chat.
- Comfortably functioning as a concierge or greeter.
- Developing skills, competencies, and certifications necessary to support branch performance goals.
- Ensuring high level of customer satisfaction through the delivery of excellent service.
- Proactively accepting bank initiatives and assignments.
- Reflecting the core values and ethics of WaFd Bank, including integrity, teamwork, ownership, simplicity, discipline, and service.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Business-related college classes or degree preferred.
- Good math skills, 10-key and keyboarding, standard Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word, Teams, PowerBI and Outlook.
- Smartphone and digital channel skills well developed.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills and superior written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to demonstrate how to use automated technology to teach clients self-service skills.
- Satisfactory transportation.
- Two to four years’ experience in banking, experience in recommending products and services, or experience in client relationship management.
Qualifications
