About the Role
The Personal Banker is responsible for developing and maintaining a personal portfolio of prospects and customers while delivering exceptional service. This role involves profiling customers to determine their needs, cross-selling appropriate products and services, and referring customers to the integrated platform. The Personal Banker provides a broad range of services, including deposit-based, credit, investment, and fee-based products, with the goal of acquiring 100% of the customer’s business. The role also includes servicing customers at the teller line by completing a variety of financial transactions following technical and operational guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Perform all teller and platform transactions promptly, efficiently, and accurately.
- Adhere to all procedures, including operational and corporate customer service guidelines.
- Operate technology as required, including supervision of teller operations and increased signing authority.
- Complete the Excel Level 1 course and the Univest University Supervisor Certificate Program.
- Identify customer needs and cross-sell opportunities to develop new business.
- Develop working relationships with integrated partners.
- Proactively initiate sales conversations and participate in tele-consulting efforts.
- Develop knowledge and understanding of Univest products and services, leveraging bank promotions.
- Learn and become proficient in daily operational procedures.
- Actively participate in branch activities, development, and training programs.
- Manage and coach staff to desired performance levels.
- Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and the Univest Code of Conduct.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Schedule
- Monday - Wednesday: 8 am - 4 pm
- Thursday - Friday: 8 am - 6 pm
- Saturday: 9 am - 1 pm (2-3 Saturdays per month are required)
Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED or equivalency.
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize.
- Experience in retail sales or telemarketing with proven sales results.
- Strong written, verbal, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated leadership or supervisory ability.
- Energetic and engaging interpersonal communication skills.
- Previous experience with MS Office Suite.
- Previous banking experience or completion of ABA Banking Basics suite.
- Proficiency in daily operational procedures and SSR Suite Training.
- Complete notary training if applicable.
- Neat, professional appearance following established dress code guidelines.
- Complete the Univest University Supervisor Certificate Program and the “Coaching for Performance Excellence” course.
- Obtain NMLS registration.
Pay
The salary for this position starts at $25.00 per hour.
