Personal Banker

OceanFirst Bank is seeking a full‑time Personal Banker for the Maple Shade, NJ branch. All new retail staff will complete a two‑week personalized, interactive training program. The bank emphasizes a culture of respect, professionalism, and alignment with core values.

About the Role

The Personal Banker accurately processes routine financial transactions while delivering personalized, high‑quality service. The role supports branch growth, profitability, and customer retention by meeting sales and service goals, assessing customer needs, and recommending appropriate banking products and services.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and professionally.
• Utilize consultative selling and profiling techniques to match customers with suitable products and services.
• Balance and reconcile cash drawer daily, maintaining minimum teller differences and loss performance standards.
• Attend to night‑deposit vault, ATM, ITM, and coin machines as needed.
• Make outbound calls to customers and prospects to promote Bank, Wealth, and NEST products and services.
• Meet and exceed assigned sales goals for Bank products and referral goals for NEST and digital products.
• Proactively sell Bank products and services to deepen relationships based on customer needs.
• Identify sales opportunities for debit cards, credit cards, Wealth and Trust services, and other strategic goals directed by management.
• Solicit, process, and close new consumer loan applications.
• Respond to customer inquiries, coordinating with internal departments to ensure satisfaction.
• Perform account and record maintenance duties as directed.
• Provide notary services when licensed.
• Process deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, cash checks, and other teller transactions in accordance with bank policy.
• Serve as Branch Supervisor when assigned by management.
• Assist with other branch functions as directed by the Branch Manager.
• Migrate customers to the bank’s digital channels.
• Stay current on all bank policies and procedures, including BSA, and attend additional training as required.
• Participate in the Branch Incentive Program.
• Ensure compliance with banking regulations, employment and labor laws, agency guidelines, and organizational policies.
• Manage compliance requirements for the retail branch, maintaining files in accordance with regulations.
• Ensure staff meet compliance and disclosure requirements and are cross‑trained.
