About the role

Are you ready to make a real difference? Join us as a Personal Banker and kickstart your career with our industry-leading Banking Navigator program—a 9-week training program designed to equip you with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to excel. During your first nine weeks of employment, you will participate in a comprehensive training program that includes virtual facilitation, self-paced eLearning, on-the-job training, and skill application exercises. Upon graduation, you’ll be fully prepared to thrive as a Personal Banker.

Please note: Your initial training schedule may differ from your regular hours, and you may train at a different location before being permanently assigned to your branch.

Responsibilities

  • Provide the best client experience possible by delivering exceptional service on every interaction, including account activity, teller transactions, digital banking products, debit cards, and other products or processes.
  • Handle client interactions effectively and efficiently, exceeding client expectations through in-person, phone, chat, email, or other digital communication channels.
  • Support clients by ensuring their needs are completely and accurately resolved, making them feel assured.
  • Build, expand, and retain long-term client relationships through consultative conversations, assessing financial needs, and offering bank products and services.
  • Open a full range of retail products, including loan products, for new and existing clients by making recommendations during routine banking center service and teller transactions.
  • Educate clients about additional convenience services such as online banking, Bill Pay, E-Statements, mobile, and ATM deposit capabilities.
  • Resolve a variety of simple to moderate client problems while ensuring the highest level of client satisfaction.
  • Perform teller transactions (e.g., cashing checks, processing withdrawals, balancing accounts) while identifying opportunities to deepen client relationships and meet financial goals.
  • Comply with internal control, audit, security, and compliance policies, procedures, laws, and regulations.
  • Participate in professional development through training, self-improvement initiatives, and skill-building activities to enhance product knowledge, systems knowledge, sales, and client relations skills.
  • Actively engage in coaching and feedback sessions by setting goals and achieving results.

Requirements

  • Completion of high school diploma or equivalent; a college degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 1+ years of sales or customer service experience.
  • Working knowledge of consumer financial products and services.
  • Working knowledge of banking, retail sales operations, and/or contact center operations, including phone, email, and chat support.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including professional etiquette, proper grammar, and punctuation.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to follow established standards and escalate issues when appropriate.
  • Strong basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) for reconciling accounts.
  • Working PC application skills, including word processing and spreadsheet packages, with the ability to learn internal company systems.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment under pressure as needed.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including sales and client relations skills, both in-person and via telephone.
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
