Responsibilities

  • Sell a full range of banking services and products with an emphasis on growing customer relationships
  • Actively engage in outside business development
  • Provide primary responsibility for sales and service delivery
  • Adhere to the Core Values of 1st Security Bank and demonstrate dependability and reliability
  • Promote the Bank’s Customer Service Protocols in daily branch operations
  • Work as a self-starter with minimal supervision
  • Multitask and prioritize job responsibilities while maintaining organization
  • Communicate professionally and follow up when corresponding with employees and customers
  • Identify weaknesses in current bank processes to improve operational efficiency and the customer experience
  • Know the features and benefits of 1st Security’s products and services
  • Be fully knowledgeable and skilled in teller, vault, and safe deposit box operations to support and back-up the team when needed
  • Use open-ended profiling questions during each customer interaction and recommend appropriate bank products and services
  • Demonstrate an excellent ability to “ask for the business” and to “close the sale”
  • Document customer information in a timely basis in the Bank’s system of record
  • Open new accounts for consumers and business customers in strict accordance with bank’s policies and procedures, including the Customer Information Program (CIP) and Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)
  • Cross-sell additional bank products and services
  • Maintain an active business development pipeline
  • Refer prospects to other bank partners (e.g., Home Lending, Community and Business Banking, Commercial)
  • Participate in the bank’s Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) activities and community event sponsorship efforts
  • Research and resolve customer complaints when necessary
  • Connect with customers in a way that promotes 1st Security Bank
  • Achieve monthly sales, profile, and outbound call goals
  • Act as supervisor on the team in the absence of management when called upon
  • Take responsibility for learning and growth opportunities using the Branch Development Plan
  • Participate in branch operational and audit activities as assigned
  • Follow appropriate steps to ensure branch security
  • Travel to assigned 1st Security Bank locations as business needs require
  • Support management decisions and goals in a positive, professional manner and always represent the bank with a high level of integrity

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and at least two years experience in a sales role within a financial institution
  • Basic knowledge of all applicable regulations that pertain to this position
  • Knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering policies, procedures, and related programs
  • Must be bondable

Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products and other database software

Physical demands and work environment

  • The employee will operate in a general office environment, using office equipment such as a phone, computer, adding machine, and currency/coin counters
  • The employee must be able to stand for extended periods of time and bend, reach, and squat occasionally when accessing safety deposit boxes, storage, or supplies
  • Occasional lifting and moving of objects up to 25 pounds is required
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate, with light foot traffic and office equipment
  • The employee must be willing and able to interact frequently with the general public

Pay

$22.00 - $33.66 an hour
