About the Role

Wells Fargo is seeking an Associate Personal Banker (SAFE) for our National Branch Network within the Consumer, Small & Business Banking division. In this role, you will deliver an exceptional customer experience by building relationships through proactive outreach and proposing appropriate products, services, and digital solutions to help customers succeed financially.

Responsibilities

  • Assist customers with basic requests related to opening new accounts, completing service requests, and submitting credit applications.
  • Receive direction from managers and exercise judgment within defined policies and procedures.
  • Develop an understanding of bank products and services to connect them to customers' needs.
  • Interact with customers to demonstrate care and build relationships.
  • Provide appropriate options for bank products and services to customers.
  • Refer customers' financial needs to other bankers and partners as needed.
  • This SAFE position involves customer contact and job duties that may include offering, negotiating, or taking applications for dwelling-secured transactions. Compliance with the S.A.F.E. Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 and all related regulations is required. Ongoing employment is contingent upon meeting these requirements, including acceptable background investigation results.
  • Maintain a cash drawer, handle cash, and balance accounts while completing service-related tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • 6+ months of experience interacting with customers, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.

Qualifications

  • Customer service focus with experience handling complex transactions across multiple systems.
  • Ability to proactively engage with customers through outreach via phone or email.
  • Ability to educate customers on technology and share the value of mobile banking options.
  • Experience helping customers succeed financially by connecting them with additional team members as appropriate.
  • Experience fostering and developing strong customer relationships.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with internal partners.
  • Ability to follow policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Ability to identify potential fraud or risky accounts and take appropriate action to prevent loss.
  • Ability to interact with integrity and professionalism with customers and team members.
  • Relevant military experience, including working with military protocol, personnel benefits management, processing orders, wartime readiness operations, human resources, or military recruiting.
  • Proficiency in proactively sourcing, acquiring, building, and maintaining relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • Support customers and employees in resolving or escalating concerns or complaints.

Job Expectations

  • Ability to work a schedule that may include most Saturdays.
  • This position requires SAFE registration at the time of employment. Wells Fargo will initiate the SAFE registration process immediately after your employment start date. The Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) website provides the MU4R questions and registration required for employment in this position.
  • Individuals in Loan Originator (LO) positions must meet Consumer Financial Protection Bureau qualification requirements, including financial responsibility, character, general financial fitness, and criminal background standards. A current credit report will be used to assess financial responsibility and credit fitness, though a credit score is not part of the evaluation. Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements, including additional screening if necessary.

Pay

The base pay range for this position is $26.00 - $34.00 per hour. Pay may vary depending on factors such as demonstrated prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
