About the role

Personal Support Assistant providing everyday assistance, companionship, and support in a private home on the north side of Stevens Point, near Sentry Insurance. This is a relaxed, one‑on‑one position focused on conversation, laughter, and getting to know the person supported. The employer is an easygoing person who likes to keep things relaxed and have a good laugh. They enjoy watching Hallmark, The Golden Girls, or The Late Show with Stephen Colbert; listening to 80s music and artists such as Bon Jovi, OneRepublic, Imagine Dragons, Florida Georgia Line, and Yungblud; playing cards; shopping; spending time with two cats; getting outdoors when the weather is nice; taking short walks; talking, laughing, and enjoying good company. They love kids and have a fun, playful personality.

Responsibilities

• Providing conversation, companionship, and social interaction
• Helping prepare meals
• Light housekeeping and laundry
• Assisting with sit‑to‑stand transfers and getting in or out of bed
• Assistance with commode use
• Providing occasional help with sponge bathing, primarily with areas the individual cannot reach independently
• Washing hair at the sink
• Helping with socks and shoes when needed, particularly on appointment days
• Taking short walks outdoors together when the weather permits
• Helping keep the home comfortable and tidy

Requirements

• At least 18 years old
• Able to complete a background check
• Comfortable around pets (two cats)
• Willing to learn if you don’t have extensive caregiving experience

Pay

$17.35 per hour

Schedule

12 hours per day beginning around 8:00 AM; one weekend per month, with possible afternoon/evening shifts on both Saturday and Sunday depending on availability.
