Responsibilities
- Monitor permitting requirements and ensure compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Oversee environmental inspections, sampling, and monitoring programs to assess the project's impact on air, water, soil, and wildlife.
- Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies.
- Manage the process of obtaining environmental permits and approvals, including coordination with agencies like the EPA, USACE, NOAA, NMFS, USFWS, NJDEP, NYSDEC, and local authorities.
- Track compliance with permit conditions and documentation.
- Identify potential environmental risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Respond to environmental incidents, investigate causes, and develop corrective action plans.
- Ensure the project adheres to federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulations such as NEPA, Clean Water Act, and Endangered Species Act.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- PREFERRED: 5+ years experience in environmental compliance, ideally on large-scale infrastructure or transportation projects.
- Experience with tunneling, excavation, or heavy civil construction is a plus.
- Good knowledge of management principles and operational controls through the delivery lifecycle.
- Experience in development and implementation of tools and techniques in an operational environment.
- High level of knowledge and understanding of current industry standards and regulations.
Pay
The estimated starting salary for this position is $150k. Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills and qualifications.
