Permit Writer - Nights

Overview

The Permit Writer role at Safety Management Group involves completing work permits, monitoring work areas, providing HSE support, conducting site safety observations, facilitating corrective measures, representing contractors or owners in progress meetings, and ensuring compliance with safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Complete work permits (hot work, CSE, trenching, and Safe Work permits)
• Maintain oversight of work areas during permit durations
• Offer general Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) support, including job observations
• Conduct site safety observations and document findings
• Facilitate corrective actions as necessary
• Represent contractors or owners in project progress meetings
• Write permits aligned with current construction or general industry projects
• Verify compliance with safety policies and procedures as required by law and the owner

Requirements

• At least 5 years of construction and/or general industry permitting experience
• A degree in safety or a related field is preferred
• Thorough knowledge of confined space, hot work, and general permitting
• Ability to work nights and weekends (when needed)
