Permit Specialist

The Experience

• Assists in obtaining permits for over-dimension loads, arranging escorts, explaining permit procedures and general route information.
• Preparation of quotes.
• Works with customer service and operations staff for routing and general permit questions.
• Explains Canadian customs and routing procedures to drivers.
• Maintain databases.
• Works with state and provincial authorities.

Requirements

• Experience with managing many different responsibilities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to plan and organize work with minimal supervision.
• Must be a team player, and able to provide assistance to other team members.
• Ability to use sound judgment and possess proven problem-solving analysis and decision-making skills.
• Ability to read and interpret road maps.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to be flexible and able to handle changing priorities.
• Ability to prioritize workload.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Knowledge of road maps and navigation systems.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
