Job Responsibilities
- Create a dynamic academic GI division focused on research, education, and advanced clinical care.
- Expand advanced GI services, including complex endoscopic procedures and inpatient/outpatient care.
- Recruit and inspire a multidisciplinary team of GI hospitalists, faculty, fellows, and support staff.
- Provide expert consultation and management of complex GI cases as a hands-on clinical leader.
- Drive collaboration with specialties, especially in cancer care, leveraging partnerships with Drexel University and The Cleveland Clinic.
- Manage endoscopic block time and referral volumes from day one.
- Foster workforce development through mentoring, training, and culture-building initiatives.
- Enhance access and reduce disparities by engaging with underserved communities.
- Shape GI care delivery and education in Atlantic, Ocean, and Cape May Counties.
Qualifications
- Board Certification in Gastroenterology (mandatory).
- Active and unrestricted NJ state medical license (or willingness to obtain).
- Valid BLS and ACLS certifications (or willingness to obtain).
- DEA and CSR/CDS certifications (or willingness to obtain).
- Malpractice history disclosure and documentation.
- Most recent NPDB Self Query Report (within 30 days active).
- Experience in program startup or leadership as chief or medical director (preferred).
Licenses and Certifications
- Board Certification in Gastroenterology (required).
- Active and unrestricted New Jersey medical license (or willingness to obtain).
- Valid BLS, ACLS, DEA, and CSR/CDS certifications (or willingness to obtain).
