Responsibilities
- Execute quarterly sell programs
- Support reset activities, including new store and re-design set-ups
- Provide regular category training on new items, merchandising, and departmental best practices
- Communicate special activities, demand forecasts, product surveys, and promotional bookings
- Optimize category assortment and close key category voids in partnership with Category Management and Merchandising/Procurement teams
- Aid department managers, owners, or supervisors with product selection; train on new products and proper merchandising; establish appropriate retail pricing to achieve gross profit goals; assist with ad writing using the ad program; and maintain product lists with acceptable retails
- Conduct routed individual store visits to support retailers in achieving and maintaining strong business relationships, including problem-solving, negotiating, and program development, while ensuring integrity and trust between the company and retailer
- Sell special buy programs and associated merchandising programs
- Communicate competitive activities to both retailers and internal teams at the local and national level
- Sell new programs and services, and clearly explain the company’s programs and services to retailer buyers and representatives
- Travel frequently to retail store locations
Requirements
- Understanding of technical and managerial supermarket functions across all facets
- Some wholesale knowledge, including transportation, schedules, and equipment
- Knowledge of product procurement and vendor relations, with strong perishable product and supply chain expertise
- Strong knowledge of Bakery operations, merchandising, products, and industry best practices required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong time management, negotiating abilities, problem-solving skills, interpersonal skills, and financial acumen related to supermarket P&Ls
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong presentation skills
- Ability to be flexible
- A valid driver’s license
- Food Safety Certified or Food Safety Certification eligible
Qualifications
- Associate Degree - General Studies
- Bachelor's Degree - General Studies
