Perioperative Assistant

Responsibilities

• Transports patient as assigned.
• Performs surgical preps as ordered by physician.
• Transports blood products, specimens, supplies and equipment.
• Affords assistance in patient positioning.
• Cleans operating rooms, scrub rooms, anesthesia equipment and work room, operating room equipment and storage rooms.
• Delivers medications (drugs or biologicals) received in the surgical suite to the appropriate operating room via case cart or medication cart; delivers anesthesia medications as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• Prior experience in a medical or operating room environment preferred.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required per Manager’s discretion.
