Periodontics Dental Assistant

Join our dynamic and thriving dental practice as an energetic and motivated Dental Assistant! This position requires frequent travel to our Pembroke Pines office; mileage reimbursement will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist our experienced dental team in providing exceptional patient care
• Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and ensure a clean and organized environment
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-treatment care
• Support dentists during procedures, anticipating their needs and ensuring smooth workflow
• Perform basic dental procedures under the guidance of a licensed dentist
• Manage appointment scheduling and maintain patient records accurately

Requirements

Before applying, you must meet the state-specific requirements outlined below:

• Connecticut: certification and proof of formal training to expose X-rays
• Florida: Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification and proof of formal training to expose X-rays (including FDOH Permit to expose X-rays)
• Georgia: CPR Certification, Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification, and proof of formal training to expose X-rays
• Massachusetts: CPR Certification, proof of formal training to expose X-rays, BORID certification, and annual CE requirements per state regulations
• Michigan: evidence of X-ray training certification (8-week grace period to submit if not certified at hiring)
• New Jersey: proof of X-ray training
• New York: not applicable
• Ohio: proof of formal training to expose X-rays (including FDOH Permit to Expose X-rays)
• Texas: CPR Certification, TSBDE: TX State Board of Dental Examiners

Qualifications

• Previous dental assisting experience or relevant education is preferred, but we're willing to train the right candidate
• Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, compassionate demeanor
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in dental software and technology is a plus
