Peri-Operative Attendant
Patient Transport
- Safely transport patients, ensuring their comfort and security.
Sterilization & Supply Management
- Apply basic principles of sterilization.
- Maintain sterile supplies.
- Ensure proper stock rotation.
OR Equipment Management
- Prepare, clean, and maintain OR equipment, ensuring functionality.
- Coordinate equipment requisitions.
- Liaise with vendors.
- Manage repairs/replacements.
Surgical Team Support
- Collaborate closely with the surgical team.
- Assist with supply inventory.
- Deliver specimens and blood products.
- Maintain an organized OR suite and support areas.
Anesthesia Support
- Provide coverage for Anesthesia Technician duties.
- Clean anesthesia equipment.
Required Competencies
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and make flexible decisions.
- Strong collaborative skills to work effectively with medical, nursing, and other departments.
- Commitment to maintaining patient, staff, and health system confidentiality.
- Knowledge and skills to provide age-appropriate patient care.
- Proactive in ensuring adequate and functional equipment for safe patient care.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- BLS certification required.
- Prior experience in bedside patient care (long-term or acute health facility) preferred.
