About the role
The Unit Care Assistant provides patient care and clerical support on the unit, ensuring smooth operations. They perform direct and indirect patient activities under RN supervision, including processing orders, evaluating and modifying care plans, and monitoring patient conditions. The role involves maintaining a safe, clean environment, completing documentation, and collecting health data while considering biological, psychological, social, emotional, and spiritual factors.
The assistant handles clerical duties such as answering calls, relaying messages, maintaining records, and ensuring patient confidentiality. They advocate for patients and collaborate on patient transfers and discharges.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct and indirect patient care under RN supervision.
- Process orders, evaluate and modify care plans, and monitor patient conditions.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients.
- Complete documentation and collect health data.
- Perform clerical duties, including answering calls, relaying messages, and maintaining records.
- Ensure patient confidentiality and advocate for patient needs.

Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- Washington State Nursing Assistant Certification.
- Current BLS certification.
- Previous acute care or medical office experience preferred.
