Perfusionist MUSC Florence Operating Room - FT

Job Description

In collaboration with the surgical team, and under the supervision of the Chief Perfusionist/Director of Surgical Services, the perfusionist is primarily concerned with coordinating and participating in the management, set up and operation of heart/lung machines and other ancillary equipment used in open heart and other cardiovascular procedures.

• Evaluating techniques and/or equipment for clinical application
• Acting as a resource person for the entire heart team
• Ensuring effective communication with the entire heart team

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Perfusion Technology or Bachelor of Science degree with a certificate in Perfusion Technology from an accredited cardiovascular perfusion education program
• Three to five years of clinical experience to include pediatrics experience preferred
• Call, transport required
• Certification by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion required

Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations

• Certification by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion required
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required
