Perfusion Assistant - Full Time (40 hrs/wk) - Rotating Shift

About the role

Under minimal supervision, you will provide care, maintenance, assembly, and operation of electronic physiological pressure monitoring equipment in the operating room, including intra-aortic balloon pumping systems, autologous blood salvaging systems, and other related systems. You will also perform laboratory tests in the operating room for open-heart patients and maintain and clean equipment for perfusion services.

Responsibilities

• Operate, calibrate, and maintain electronic physiological pressure monitoring equipment
• Assemble and operate intra-aortic balloon pumping (IABP) systems
• Manage autologous blood salvaging systems and related equipment
• Perform laboratory tests for open-heart patients in the operating room
• Maintain and clean perfusion service equipment
• Assist during surgical procedures as required

Requirements

• Associate Degree preferred
• Completion of Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) certification program and/or minimum of one year of previous IABP experience
• Analytical ability to set up, calibrate, operate, and maintain various equipment
• Manual dexterity to work with finely detailed circuitry components and systems
• Visual, hearing, and verbal abilities required to operate equipment and assist during surgical procedures
