Performance Test Engineer

About the Role

Leads and performs performance testing, performance engineering, and scalability analysis for enterprise applications, cloud-native platforms, data warehouse solutions, and data lake ecosystems. Defines performance test strategies, designs realistic workload models, develops and executes performance tests using tools such as NeoLoad, and analyzes system behavior across application, database, infrastructure, and cloud layers. Collaborates with product, development, architecture, infrastructure, and operations teams to identify performance risks, establish baselines, validate non-functional requirements, and provide actionable recommendations to improve throughput, reliability, resiliency, and user experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute performance testing, resiliency testing, and performance engineering for enterprise applications.
• Develop workload models, performance test designs, and resiliency test scenarios.
• Perform failover validation, test execution, monitoring, bottleneck analysis, recovery analysis, and results reporting.
• Utilize performance testing tools such as NeoLoad for test automation within CI/CD pipelines.
• Validate database performance and assess large-scale data warehouse or data lake environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify performance risks and establish performance baselines.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in performance testing, performance engineering, or quality engineering for enterprise applications.
• Hands-on experience with workload modeling, performance test design, test execution, monitoring, bottleneck analysis, and results reporting.
• Experience with NeoLoad or similar performance testing tools.
• Familiarity with CI/CD performance test automation.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS.
• Knowledge of database performance validation and large-scale data warehouse or data lake environments (preferred).

In-person interview required. Candidate should be flexible to work in a hybrid environment and willing to commute to the Reston office when needed.
