About the role
As a per diem officer, you will work on an as-needed basis. Each week you will provide your supervisor with your availability and they will schedule you in when shift coverage is needed. Per diem officers are required to work a minimum of 16 hours per month.
Responsibilities
- Delivering high-end customer service
- Responding to emergencies
- Deterring and preventing crime
- Performing ingress/egress control procedures
- Investigating incidents
- Completing daily logs and incident reports
- Conducting regular walking or vehicle patrols
- Building and maintaining a professional rapport with clients, guests, and co-workers
- De-escalating conflicts
- Detaining suspects
- Monitoring CCTV cameras
- Performing other related duties as assigned
Requirements
- Current and valid driver’s license
- High school diploma or GED
- (1) year experience in security recommended
- Must be able to pass drug screen
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proficient time management skills
- Reliable transportation
- Excellent de-escalation skills
- Extensive use-of-force knowledge
- Must be able to pass a comprehensive background investigation, urinalysis screening, and OPS training requirements
Appearance
- Officers shall maintain their hair in a neat, clean, and combed professional appearance
- Beards are not permitted
- Mustaches must be clean and neatly trimmed; may not extend down onto the upper lip area or down the sides past the juncture of the upper and lower lip lines; mustaches will not extend beyond the corner of the mouth more than 3/8 inch; handlebars are not allowed
- Officer’s fingernails shall not extend more than ¼ inch from the tip of the finger or interfere in any way in the performance of duty or with the safe drawing of issued equipment; fingernail polish is allowed if it does not distract from the uniform
