Per Diem Tissue Recovery Technician - Shift: Weekends, Friday through Sunday (PM)

Responsibilities
- Participates in the surgical recovery of human tissue for transplantation.
- Thorough knowledge and comprehension of aseptic technique.
- Ability to circulate in an operating room setting.
- Inspects and monitors equipment, supplies and instrumentation being used for procurement.
- Observes environmental conditions and takes corrective measures as necessary.
- Reports deficiencies to supervisor.
- Maintains an open line of communication with the Tissue Recovery Leadership.
- Absolutely adheres to established protocols set forth in the LifeLink Foundation Tissue Bank Standards and Procedures Manual.
- Performs any duties deemed necessary by Tissue Recovery Leadership.
Requirements
- Passionate about helping others and making a difference.

- Successful completion of an accredited Surgical Technology Program or a minimum of one year experience in aseptic technique preferred.
- A minimum of a high school diploma required.
- Ability to stand for ninety percent of the work time.
- Interpersonal ability to interact with fellow staff members, supervisors and management.
- Visual acuity and manual dexterity necessary to procure tissue in an aseptic manner for clinical use.
- Responds to case notifications within 15 minutes, or the coordinator will move to the next employee on call.
- Arrives at the office within one hour and ten minutes of being contacted.
- Is appropriately dressed for travel to a hospital.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- A collaborator who thrives in a mission-first environment.

- Work generally requires periods of extended hours in the performance of tissue recovery activities.
- Often requires traveling during all hours.
- Office space and equipment will be provided to perform necessary duties.
- Tissue recovery procedures are performed in various operating room settings and medical examiners facilities.
- Hazardous conditions include but are not limited to possible exposure to blood or bodily fluids from potentially infected donors and the potential to obtain cuts and/or puncture to skin from sharp instruments and equipment.
