Per Diem Telemetry Technician- CVT Surgical Telemetry- Night Shift
About the role
The Telemetry Monitor Technician monitors and accurately interprets cardiac rhythms of patients on telemetric equipment. They provide continuous observation and identify basic arrhythmias. They also notify RNs or Physicians promptly of any changes or issues related to dysrhythmia. Additionally, they troubleshoot false alarms and system/equipment issues, document values, and mount rhythm strips according to unit standards. They also observe patients during special procedures.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient data
- Interpret and respond to telemetry monitor alarms
- Provide continuous observation of patients on telemetry monitors
- Identify and report basic arrhythmias
- Troubleshoot false alarms and system/equipment issues
- Mount rhythm strips according to unit standards
- Observe patients during special procedures
Requirements
- Minimum one year experience monitoring cardiac activity
- EKG Certification by time of hire
- Availability to work weekends and rotating shifts, including evenings, nights, and holidays
Qualifications
- Basic Life Support Education
