The Dobbs Ferry Middle School (Grades 6-8) is accepting applications for Per Diem Substitute Teachers for the 2026-2027 school year.

About the role

Teaching certification preferred, but not required. Retirees, career changers, and college students encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Teach subjects as assigned by the principal.
  • Follow established curriculum and instructional methods.
  • Maintain classroom discipline and safety.
  • Assist in planning and implementing lessons.
  • Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.

Requirements

  • Current New York State certification or temporary certification.
  • Pass a fingerprint-supported criminal history background check.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with technology and digital learning tools.
