About the role
The Specialty Pharmacy Technician will effectively support the successful implementation and execution of all pharmacy programs and processes. The Specialty Pharmacy Technician will provide support to the pharmacy staff to ensure applicable program processes and operational responsibilities are met.
Location: 6720 Placid Street, Las Vegas, NV 89119
Schedule
- Open 7 days per week, per diem
- Weekdays: 7:30am - 8:00pm PST
- Weekends: 8:00am - 7:00pm PST
- Rotating holidays and weekends
- Supervisor will determine the schedule
Responsibilities
- Enter prescriptions and verify appropriate information
- Contact patients, pharmacists, and doctor's offices to resolve claims issues
- Process prescriptions (from intake to order completion)
- Resolve customer issues; ensuring accurate information is provided
- Consistently meet established productivity, schedule adherence, and quality standards while maintaining a good attendance record
- Fulfillment of prescription orders
- Ability to interpret prescription orders and enter into the pharmacy system
- Answer the telephone utilizing appropriate etiquette
- Document interventions and tracking outcomes with Pharmacy team
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- Pharmacy trainee license or Pharmacy Technician License
- Intermediate level of proficiency with computers using Windows PC applications, and the ability to learn new and complex computer system applications
- Ability to work variable shifts which may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays (Mon-Fri hours: 7:30am - 8pm, Sat/Sun: 8am-7pm)
Preferred Qualifications
- PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) Certified
- 2+ years of Pharmacy Technician experience
- 6+ months of experience with insurance claims processing, rejection, and resolution
- Experience with various insurances, pre-approval & authorizations process, and rejections
- Sterile compounding experience

Pay
The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.00 to $29.00 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications.
