Per Diem RN - Oncology Practice - MGH

About the role

This Per Diem position is located in Danvers. Requires 2+ years RN experience (strongly preferred) and 1+ year of oncology experience. Minimum of 12 shifts per year (one shift per month, no weekends). Shifts are 8 or 10 hours starting at 7 PM.

Responsibilities

• Interpret the plan of medical care
• Assess patients' clinical decision‑making regarding nursing care
• Assure nursing care is provided in a safe and competent manner
• Provide individualized nursing care
• Evaluate nursing care for groups of patients
• Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records
• Administer medications to patients and monitor for reactions or side effects
• Record patients' medical information and vital signs
• Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions
• Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans
• Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions

Requirements

Registered Nurse (RN) state license required.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
• Experience: Clinical nursing experience 0‑1 year required (2+ years RN experience strongly preferred; 1+ year oncology experience required)
• Cannot substitute experience for degree

Skills

• Familiarity with principles and skills needed for practical nursing to provide patient care and treatment
• Knowledgeable of care required by respective age groups
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and secure sensitive information
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Excellent verbal and communication skills
• Ability to accurately screen and triage acute patients

Pay

Pay range: $41.72 – $105.65 per hour (Grade GHCARN055).
