About the role
Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Newark seeks a per diem Residential Assistant for its Hope House Family Shelter in Jersey City, NJ.
Responsibilities
- Carries out designated services in the shelter
- Maintains program policies and safety parameters
- Provides residents with supplies as needed
- Answers telephone calls professionally
- Aids in the supervision and security of the building areas
- Responds appropriately to crisis situations
- Accurately completes required program documentation
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED and 1-2 years of related experience preferred
- OR 3 years of experience working with the homeless population
Qualifications
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must be able to pass a background check
