Per Diem Registered Nurse
About the role
The Registered Nurse (RN) will work in a primary care setting, delivering comprehensive nursing care within a multi-disciplinary team structure. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing direct patient care, administering medications, coordinating patient care, conducting assessments, and managing sexually transmitted diseases. The RN will also provide patient education and actively participate in quality improvement initiatives related to triage and other programs as required.
About Ward 86 Clinic
Ward 86, the HIV/AIDS Clinic at the Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center (ZSFG) campus, has been a leader and innovator in the field of HIV care since the beginning of the epidemic. Ward 86 is the largest clinic providing primary medical care for people living with HIV for the San Francisco Health Network (SFHN) and also provides preventive services to patients at-risk for HIV infection, including pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP).
Qualifications
- One year of clinical experience; and knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
- Experience working with patients living with HIV/AIDS.
- Experience working with patients with complex mental health conditions, including substance use disorders.
- Experience working with patients experiencing homelessness or unstable housing.
- Experience working with patients requiring STI management.
- Experience with administration of long acting injectable medications.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher.
- HIV/AIDS Certified Registered Nurse (ACRN) Certification.
- Two (2) years experience as a Registered Nurse in a primary care setting.
Skills
- Fluency in Spanish.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
