About the Role

The Psychiatric Social Worker is a crucial member of an interdisciplinary team, providing assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, intervention, and psycho-education to patients and their families. The role involves direct patient care, utilizing various treatment modalities, and working with specific age groups based on training and certification. The position requires expertise in psychopathology and timely clinical interventions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning for members.
• Select appropriate treatment modalities based on presenting issues.
• Effectively communicate clinical information to patients and staff.
• Provide high patient satisfaction and maintain clinical documentation.
• Utilize knowledge of community resources and adhere to clinical guidelines.
• Perform initial interviews, determine urgency, and recommend therapeutic courses.
• Deliver treatment to adults, adolescents, and children.
• Provide crisis intervention, clinical consultation, and resource referrals.
• Proficiently identify and treat various developmental stages with diverse modalities like individual, family, and group therapy.
• Maintain compliance with organizational and regulatory policies and participate in quality improvement activities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years post-graduate mental health therapy experience in the past five years.
• Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or related behavioral health field.
• Licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist, Professional Clinical Counselor, or Clinical Social Worker in California.
• Knowledge of DSM nomenclature and ability to provide culturally sensitive care.

Additional Notes

• Experience with Crisis Intervention and IOP Groups preferred.
• Position may cover any of the Downey Service Area Psychiatric Clinics.
