Per Diem/ On Call CNA

About the role

BrightStar Care is looking for reliable caregivers to join our team in an on-call position in the Rochester area. This role offers around 10 hours per week and is ideal for someone interested in adding to their current schedule or gradually returning to caregiving, with the opportunity for more hours in the future.

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship and conversation to enhance the lives of our clients.
• Assist with daily activities such as meal preparation, light housekeeping, and errands.
• Provide physical assistance such as bathing, dressing, grooming, transferring, and ambulation.
• Accompany clients to appointments or social outings, providing transportation as needed.
• Monitor and report changes in the client’s health, behavior, and needs.
• Act as a member of the care coordination team to communicate with the RN Case Manager to update the plan of care.

Requirements

• A compassionate, patient, and caring nature.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience providing care to clients in a hands-on environment (Home Health, Assisted Living, Group Home, Hospital Setting).
• Reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s license with auto insurance.
• Negative TB test or cleared chest X-ray.
• Availability to work 2 weekend days per month.

Pay

• 1-hour shifts: $30 per hour
• 2-hour shifts: $22.50 per hour
• Shifts 3 hours or longer: $19–$22 per hour (based on experience)

Schedule

On-call position with around 10 hours per week, including 2 weekend days per month.
