Per Diem Nurse - Acute Rehab - Days
About the role
The clinical nurse will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement a plan of care for a specific group of assigned patients. This role requires a minimum of 2 years recent inpatient clinical nursing experience in adult acute care or completion of 6 months of UC Irvine Medical Center Clinical Nurse I orientation or new graduate RN residency didactic series. Minimum of 1 year of rehabilitation experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement a plan of care for assigned patients
- Perform professional nursing duties incorporating the psychomotor and age-appropriate cognitive skills of the patient/family/significant other
- Absess, plan, intervene, and advocate for the patient on an ongoing basis throughout the continuum of care
- Evaluate patient outcomes, effectiveness of the plan of care, and readiness for discharge, and revise the plan or make referrals as necessary
- Act as a role model and mentor to a variety of students and nurses new to the unit
- Function as a Patient Care Coordinator as requested by the supervisor/manager
Requirements
Required qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, and effective communication skills. Bilingual skills are preferred but not required. All external candidates must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include understanding of applicable regulatory requirements, basic life support education, and experience in rehabilitation settings.
Skills
Strong communication skills, ability to work independently, and proficiency in computer systems are essential.
