Performing MRI Procedures
- Prepare and position patients accurately for specific examinations, observing different and special requirements for each protocol.
- Ensure proper documentation of patient information and examination details.
Equipment Management
- Assume responsibilities for designated areas of MRI equipment.
- Produce high-quality technical images.
- Review completed exams for quality and completeness.
- Identify and troubleshoot departmental technical issues according to correct procedural guidelines.
Quality Assurance
- Practice and employ ALARA principles for all patients and members.
- Complete and review QC sheets accurately.
Supervision and Leadership
- Assume responsibilities for designated areas of MRI equipment.
- Review schedule for any gaps in coverage.
Qualifications
- Previous experience with Siemens 3.0T Systems required.
- 5-10 years of MRI experience, previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Must be a graduate from an accredited radiography school or hospital-based program.
- Certified and in good standing: ARRT (MR).
- Current California State License (CRT).
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Yearly MRI Safety Certification (Level 2) required.
- Commitment: Ability to work extended hours or emergency shifts if necessary to maintain safe department coverage.
- Continuing education requirements need to be upheld to meet the standards set forth by governing bodies. Current standards are 24 ECE credits over a two-year period depending on year of birth.
- IV certification preferred or by completion of 6-months' orientation.
- MRSO/ MRSE certification from American Board of Magnetic Resonance Safety.
