Per Diem LVN Nurse

About the Role

Provide nursing care in a substance abuse recovery setting, including admissions, assessments, medication administration, and patient monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Complete admission procedures, including paperwork and belongings search.
• Administer and interpret tests, document assessments, treatments, and progress.
• Provide direct patient care, monitor for signs of intoxication and withdrawal.
• Manage medication administration and develop treatment plans.
• Offer emotional support, counseling, and coordinate with staff and outside professionals.
• Maintain documentation, ensure safety, and uphold healthcare procedures.
• Supervise technicians and ensure compliance with confidentiality laws and ethical standards.

Requirements

• Unrestricted LVN/RN license in Texas.
• Current CPR, First Aid, and Bloodborne Pathogens certifications.
• Preferably 1 year of detox, emergency, or med-surge experience.
• Knowledge of substance withdrawal, pharmacology, and addiction treatment criteria.
• Strong communication, leadership, and team-building skills.
• Ability to respond physically in crisis situations and work flexible hours.
• Understand confidentiality laws, ethical standards, and patient care protocols.
