Role Overview

A Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in ICU or Telemetry is sought for per diem hospital assignments in Halifax, VA. The role offers flexible scheduling with day and night shifts, allowing nurses to choose shifts that suit their lifestyle.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality care in an acute-care hospital environment
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and treatment responses
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments per physician orders
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and operate specialized equipment as needed
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records
• Follow hospital policies, infection-control standards, and safety guidelines
• Educate patients and families about care plans and discharge instructions
• Demonstrate professionalism and adaptability in a dynamic setting

Qualifications & Skills

• Active Virginia RN license
• At least one year of recent ICU or Telemetry experience within the past two years
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association
• Recent QuantiFERON-TB Gold test (within 12 months)
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption
