Per Diem General Anesthesiologist

Responsibilities

• Administer and manage anesthesia as part of the pre-, intra-, and post-surgical process.
• Evaluate patients and their medical histories prior to surgery, including prescription medications, over-the-counter medicines, and herbal supplements.

Job Requirements

• M.D. or D.O. from an accredited school of medicine.
• Completion of an Anesthesiology Residency from an accredited institution.
• Three (3) years of clinical practice in anesthesiology.
• Board Certification/Eligibility in Anesthesiology.
• Valid License by the State of Nevada to practice medicine.
• State of Nevada Pharmacy Board License to prescribe medications.
• DEA Controlled Substance Registration Certificate.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Fellowship or Board Certification in Pediatrics is preferred but not required.

Licensing/Certification Requirements

• Valid License by the State of Nevada to practice medicine.
• State of Nevada Pharmacy Board License to Prescribe Medications.
• DEA Controlled Substance Registration Certificate.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association (AHA).

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Mobility to stand for long periods during surgical procedures.
• Sterility to maintain concentration for extended periods of time.
• Vision to read printed materials and a VDT screen.
• Hearing and speech to communicate effectively in-person and over the telephone.
• Strength and agility to exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
