Per Diem- Environmental Services Aide (Evenings)

About the role

Responsible for keeping assigned areas clean, sanitary, and aseptic by scouring, scrubbing, mopping, and polishing using approved germicides and cleaners. Removes trash from containers. Performs high dusting, spot cleaning, bathroom cleaning, restocks dispensers throughout the facility, cleans offices, utility rooms, lounges, and other rooms as assigned by supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Works with equipment or performs procedures where carelessness could result in minor cuts, bruises, or muscle pulls.
• Exposure to hazardous chemicals or carcinogenic agents requiring caution and use of established safety guidelines and equipment.
• Exposure to radiation requiring caution and use of established safety guidelines and equipment.
• Handling of blood and various body fluids requiring caution and use of established safety guidelines and equipment.
• Exposure to uncomfortable conditions due to extreme temperatures, noise levels, odors, or similar conditions.
• Handling of hot liquids, toxic, or flammable chemicals, or contaminated materials requiring caution and use of established safety guidelines and equipment.

Physical Requirements

• Lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Standing for more than two hours at a time.
• Climbing, ascending, or descending ladders, scaffolding, or ramps.
• Stooping or bending.
• Manual dexterity, reach, and grasp objects.
• Color vision - the ability to identify and distinguish colors.
• Ability to hear and communicate orally.

Qualifications

Work requires the ability to read and understand written instructions. No previous experience required. High School diploma or equivalent preferred, plus three to six months on-the-job training and orientation.
