About the role

The pay for this position starts at $20.50/hour, with additional compensation added for higher education and/or years of relevant experience up to $23.87/hour. This position is located in Rutland, MA. Devereux Massachusetts Serves Students With Various Complex Psychological, Emotional, And Behavioral Disorders, Including But Not Limited To Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the safety and security of all youth as assigned by providing direct supervision.
  • Provide and ensure therapeutic interventions in a compassionate and safe environment.
  • Engage with youth in a meaningful and positive manner, teaching and prompting appropriate behaviors, and providing positive reinforcement for the same.
  • Teach and assist with Activities of Daily (ADL) Living Skills.
  • Possess adequate organizational and communication skills needed to complete required documentation, such as progress notes and incident reports.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Active driver’s license is required.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, or Special Education preferred.
  • Previous experience preferred (not required) working with individuals under 21 with psychological, emotional and behavioral disorders, complex post-traumatic stress disorder, co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders, and/or autism spectrum disorders.
  • MUST BE MAPS certified, or able to obtain certification within 6 months of employment if going to a Group Home Setting.

Qualifications

  • Must attend a 2 week paid orientation, which runs Monday-Friday, 8AM to 4PM for external candidates.

Skills

  • Passionate about working with and helping youth.
  • Organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to teach and assist with ADL Living Skills.
  • Ability to provide therapeutic interventions.
