Duties/Responsibilities
- Assist in monitoring the residential program for individuals experiencing homelessness.
- Maintain a safe environment by performing rounds and addressing the varied needs of individuals experiencing homelessness.
- Manage conflict or challenging behaviors with self-awareness, emphasizing safety and building trust while understanding each person's unique experience.
- Screens residents and visitors at the front door, creates written documentation including logbook entries, incident reports, and progress notes.
- Manages inventory for supplies, maintains fire safety drills and logs, and provides emergency first aid, CPR assistance, and NARCAN when needed.
- Assists with inspections and audits.
- Escorts clients and serves meals as needed.
- Helps maintain an orderly and clean facility.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- CPR Certification or the ability to obtain certification is required.
- NYC Fire Safety Guard Certification or the ability to obtain certification is required.
- NYC Fire Safety Coordinator Certification is preferred; employees must be willing to attempt to acquire certification.
- Security guard license is preferred; employees must be willing to attempt to acquire license.
- Food Handler Certificate is preferred; employees must be willing to attempt to acquire certification.
- TB clearance is required when necessary.
- Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness is preferred.
- Effectively communicates with others both in writing and orally.
- Able to maintain professional boundaries.
- Basic computer literacy is required.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus.
- Vaccination is preferred but not required.
