Per Diem CDL Driver
About the role
We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Per Diem CDL Driver to operate a 28-foot diesel truck for local and regional deliveries. This position is ideal for an experienced driver looking for flexible, as-needed work.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a 28-foot diesel box truck for scheduled deliveries and pickups
- Load, secure, transport, and unload materials safely and efficiently
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Maintain accurate delivery paperwork and logs
- Follow all DOT regulations, traffic laws, and company safety policies
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse staff, and customers
- Report any vehicle maintenance or safety issues promptly
- Assist with basic loading and warehouse support when needed
Qualifications
- Valid CDL license (Class B preferred; Class A accepted)
- Clean driving record and current DOT medical card
- Previous commercial driving experience required
- Experience operating diesel trucks and delivery vehicles
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist with loading/unloading
- Strong reliability, punctuality, and customer service skills
- Ability to work flexible hours on short notice
Preferred Skills
- Forklift experience or certification
- Knowledge of local and regional routes
- Experience with delivery documentation and inspections
- Warehouse or building materials delivery experience is a plus
