Essential Job Functions

• Absorb and respond to resident ADL needs, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, and mobility.
• Maintain resident dignity and respect while following all policies, procedures, regulations, and guidelines.
• Assist with moving and transferring residents safely using proper safety and lifting techniques.
• Communicate resident status and any changes to a supervisor immediately.
• Encourage residents to engage in activities and assist with activities as needed.
• Respond promptly to resident alerts, needs, and requests for care.
• Monitor residents' emotional condition and report any changes to the nurse.
• Promote personal safety by following infection control practices and reporting unsafe situations.
• Ensure resident safety during fire or other safety drills.
• Perform other essential job-related duties as assigned.

Knowledge And Critical Skills

• Make independent decisions and follow instructions.
• Deal tactfully with various individuals and maintain confidentiality.
• Communicate effectively and maintain resident privacy.
• Follow facility EHR and demonstrate proficiency.

Education And Experience

• Meet all applicable state and federal requirements for this position.
• Prefer 6 months or more of experience in home care, assisted living, or long-term care facilities.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

• Tasks may involve exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious diseases, air contaminants, and hazardous chemicals.
• Physical activities include lifting up to 75 pounds, standing for extended periods, bending, stooping, stretching, twisting, sitting, and reaching.
• Cognitive activities involve executing tasks independently, expressing oneself clearly, concentrating on details, and visual and hearing alertness.
• Environmental requirements include ambient room temperatures and lighting.
• Physical requirements include ability to lift, move, transfer residents, stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, stretch, twist, sit, and reach.

Environmental Requirements

• Exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious diseases, air contaminants, and hazardous chemicals.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not have any direct reports or supervisory requirements.
