PEPI, Senior Associate - M&A and Performance Improvement – Sports, Media, and Entertainment

About the role

This role is within the Sports, Media, and Entertainment (SM&E) team within Alvarez & Marsal's Private Equity Performance Improvement (PEPI) practice. The team supports private equity and corporate clients through complex transactions, focusing on upper middle market companies in the $50M to $1B+ range.

Responsibilities

  • Identify key client business issues and own key client deliverables
  • Oversee workstreams and drive cross-functional collaboration
  • Support client needs with innovative approaches and expert Excel skills
  • Provide informal leadership by coordinating across workstreams and supporting team development
  • Develop and present synergy and performance improvement models, separation and one-time cost models, integration and carveout trackers, and other workstream outputs
  • Contribute to high-profile deals shaping the future of the SM&E industry

Requirements

  • 4-6+ years of professional experience in management consulting, investment banking, private equity, corporate development, with a demonstrated track record of M&A, preferably in the SM&E space
  • Experience in integration/separation planning and execution a plus
  • MBA preferred
  • Eager to learn about core operations of SM&E
  • Initiative and drive
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Flexibility to travel at least 75% of time

Qualifications

  • Strong technical and analytical toolkit, including advanced financial modeling
  • Expert Excel skills for structuring and analyzing large, complex datasets
  • Strong oral and written communication skills for leading client interactions, facilitating working sessions, presenting findings, and translating complex analytical outputs into clear, actionable insights

  • Flexibility to travel at least 75% of time

Benefits

The salary range is $100,000 - $170,000 annually, with a discretionary bonus program based on individual and firm performance.
