Peoria Calls for Submissions, Artists Sought for \"Light at Play\" Illuminated Art Festival in 2026

About the Opportunity

The City of Peoria is inviting artists from Arizona and neighboring states—California, Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada, and Utah—to submit qualifications for the "Light at Play" festival, a three-night celebration of interactive and illuminated public art taking place April 9–11, 2026, in Downtown Peoria.

Artists may propose works such as digital animation, motion graphics, projection mapping, augmented reality experiences, and other forms that explore the narrative potential of light, motion, and technology in a nocturnal setting.

Selected participants will advance to a second phase to develop site-specific concepts for the event. Funding for projects ranges from $3,000 to $20,000, based on complexity and scope.

In Phase I, applicants only need to submit qualifications. Qualified applicants will be notified by December 15 and will receive support for infrastructure and equipment. The festival will transform 83rd Avenue, from Washington to Monroe Streets, into an immersive outdoor gallery of glowing, moving, and interactive installations.
