About the Role

As our People & Culture Business Partner – Retail, you’ll be the go-to resource for our retail branches and member service center, supporting team members in recruiting, employee relations, communications, benefits, and more. You’ll collaborate with retail leadership and cross-functional partners to bring People & Culture expertise to our 16 branches across Connecticut. Location: East Hartford, CT (Hybrid – 3-4 days in office)

Responsibilities

  • Support the Retail division and leadership team through in-person meetings and activities to foster synergy and relationship building.
  • Manage the recruiting function, including sourcing candidates and overseeing the selection process.
  • Design, develop, and execute promotional programs and incentives to drive results across branches and support centers.
  • Develop policies and procedures to support the Retail division.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for FMLA/ADA, reasonable accommodations, and complex employee relations investigations.
  • Collaborate with People & Culture leadership to create programs that enhance service levels and engagement.
  • Meet with team members, vendors, and stakeholders to drive collaboration and productivity.
  • Support team member information using HRIS, Learning Management Software, and Knowledge Management systems.
  • Manage team member social and engagement activities as needed.
  • Travel to branches and events (25% of the time).
  • Oversee team management functions, including people planning, performance appraisals, and individual development plans (IDPs).
  • Support new hire orientation and manage the onboarding process pre-retail/technical training.
  • Attend job fairs and recruitment events as needed.
  • Align communications with the Manager of Retail Engagement to support team member engagement.
  • Collaborate with Benefits and Payroll to assist team members with HRIS systems and platforms.
  • Work with the Communications team to ensure timely dissemination of policies, open enrollment, organizational announcements, and special events.
  • Maintain recruiting recordkeeping in compliance with legal requirements and company policies.
  • Oversee the Medallion Guarantee process and ensure adherence to compliance standards.
  • Monitor and schedule Sexual Harassment Prevention Training as required.
  • Complete background checks as necessary.
  • Review the Team Member Handbook and policies to ensure compliance with federal and state legal requirements.
  • Create reports, spreadsheets, and presentations using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Workforce Now.
  • Schedule meetings and reserve conference rooms as needed.
  • Update job descriptions, HRIS records, procedure manuals, and organizational charts.
  • Manage vendor relationships and process invoices for assigned vendors.
  • Support payroll and time and attendance procedures.
  • Administer post-offer processes, including background checks, bondability verification, and onboarding requirements.
  • Develop ad hoc organizational and department reports in HRIS as needed.
  • Represent the People & Culture Department on internal committees.
  • Administer policy and procedural information via HRIS and ensure acknowledgment of policies.
  • Support the Open Enrollment process.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing multiple business units as a Generalist.
  • Advanced knowledge of HRIS and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Experience using an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and conducting complex investigations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business Administration.
  • Demonstrated adaptability, collaboration, resourcefulness, and trustworthiness.

Pay

$80,000–$90,000 annually (depending on experience, education, aptitude, and equity).
