People Business Partner, Product & Design

Role Overview

The role is part of Harvey's mission to transform how the world's best legal professionals work. It involves partnering with Product and Design leaders to support their teams, based in San Francisco, and potentially expanding to other technical orgs.

What You'll Do

• Partner deeply with Product and Design leaders
• Work closely with leaders to build and scale their teams, advising on org design, team structure, and managing through rapid growth and change
• Coach and challenge leaders, supporting them in complex people and organizational decisions
• Drive performance and accountability, working with managers on performance, feedback, and development
• Navigate complex employee relations matters with sound judgment
• Develop a strong understanding of how Product, Design, and Engineering teams operate
• Operate in ambiguity, helping leaders navigate shifting priorities and new problem spaces
• Help scale how we work, partnering with the Head of PBPs and broader People team to evolve and implement practices that support high-performing technical teams

What You Have

• 6–10+ years of experience in a People Business Partner role, ideally supporting Product, Design, or Engineering teams
• Experience working with technical leaders - understanding how product and engineering organizations operate and building credibility quickly
• Strong judgment and the ability to navigate ambiguity - comfortable making decisions in real time without perfect information
• Ability to influence and challenge senior leaders in a thoughtful and direct way
• Experience supporting org design, performance management, and team scaling in high-growth environments
• High emotional intelligence and strong communication skills, especially in complex or sensitive situations
• A pragmatic, no-drama approach - focusing on what works for the business and moving things forward
• Ability to work from the San Francisco office at least three days per week

Compensation

$165,400 - $248,200 USD, depending on location
