About the role

An excellent opportunity has become available for a People Advisor to join the HR team of an established, market-leading business in the midst of an exciting phase of growth, investment, and expansion. The role will deliver a proactive, business-focused HR service with a strong emphasis on driving and enhancing Learning and Organisational Development activities. Reporting to the HR Manager, you will work as part of the HR team to support the business in achieving its ambitious growth plans.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of the HR team to build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders to ensure HR supports business objectives.
  • Partner with managers to strengthen and develop management capability in all HR-related activities.
  • Provide advice and guidance on performance management and talent development activity.
  • Coordinate training and development programmes, liaising with management teams and external learning providers.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of career development and succession planning activities.
  • Support organisational development and business improvement initiatives, including employee engagement.
  • Develop policies and procedures and facilitate training to ensure effective management of human resources within legislation and best practice.
  • Support the business with general people queries and give advice according to company guidelines and legislation.
  • Manage employee relations matters, including absence management, disciplinary and grievance issues, and capability and performance management.
  • Assist in managing recruitment processes and develop strategies to enhance and make improvements.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable generalist HR experience at the HR Officer, HR Advisor, or Senior HR Advisor level.
  • Proven experience working as part of a generalist People Team with prior knowledge and an interest in Learning and Organisational Development activities.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to work with all levels of the business.
  • Proactive with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
