About the role

The People Advisor role within the NSPCC involves providing high quality, customer-focused, consistent HR advice on NSPCC policies in line with UK employment legislation. You will coach managers in employee relations and respond to a wide range of queries, empowering managers to make effective decisions about their people.

Responsibilities

  • Provide HR advice on NSPCC policies in line with UK employment legislation
  • Coach managers in employee relations
  • Respond to a wide range of queries
  • Empower managers to make effective decisions about their people
  • Part of a team of four People Advisors focusing on providing information and guidance on a broad variety of topics:
    • recruitment, safeguarding, inductions, probation, performance management
    • sickness absence management, wellbeing, occupational health
    • discipline and grievance cases and change programs
  • Work with HR software, update HR records, and complete monthly payroll processing
  • Get involved in interesting projects throughout the year

Requirements

  • Well organized with a customer-focused, questioning approach to work
  • HR background demonstrating ability to advise and coach people managers in a sensitive, solution-focused way
  • Influence others positively and have strong interpersonal skills
  • Recognized professional HR qualification
  • Working knowledge of employment law, Microsoft Office, and computerised HR software

Pay

Annually: £28,337 - £31,485 per annum plus £200 per annum home working allowance
