Penetration Tester
About the role
The Penetration Tester executes department activities and delivers high-quality security assessments to a diverse portfolio of high-profile clients. In this role, you will perform comprehensive security testing across a wide range of industries using a broad array of tools to discover and mitigate vulnerabilities. You will provide exceptional technical and creative strategies to support the continued growth of our fast-paced company, operating in an environment free from time reporting, chargeability goals, or sales targets. A-LIGN will depend on you to support management, plan and execute sophisticated penetration tests, and ensure the ongoing protection of our clients’ most critical systems and data.
Responsibilities
- Execute internal, external, wireless, and web application penetration tests
- Execute social engineering tests, including phishing, vishing, and physical tests
- Execute vulnerability scans and assessments
- Compile and write client reports
- Navigate the Kali system from the command line only
- Create, modify, move, and write files and documents from the command line only
- Create and write Bash scripts from the command line
- Reimage devices and virtual machines with Kali Linux
Requirements
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, management information systems, computer science, or a relevant discipline
- At least 2 years of experience performing network and application penetration tests
- OSCP certification (additional relevant penetration testing certifications preferred)
Skills
- Familiarity with text editors such as Nano, Vi, etc.
- Knowledge of the nMap tool and flag options
- Solid knowledge of networking, creating SSH tunnels, and listening for them on a receiving device
- Ability to meet deadlines with a high degree of motivation
