Peer Training Specialist

STATEMENT OF DUTIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform assigned essential functions listed below satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Creates and administers local onboarding plans.
- Shows employees local resources, facilities and introduces personnel to new employees.
- Trains employees by using hands-on direction and verbal coaching for court case processing with application of any local practices used.
- Sits with the employee while working on court dockets, at workstations in clerk’s office, and shadows interactions with court customers.
- Allows repeated opportunity for learner to apply skills learned.
- Reviews demonstrated work and provides feedback on the work product of the employees.
- Schedules observation time of courtroom and/or clerk’s office.
- Affords assistance in scheduling formal training for both HR mandatory classes and court education training for staff.
- Mentors new or underperforming employees or divisions/units/teams.
- May inform supervisors or Clerk of Court of employee performance issues and help implement improvement plans as needed.
- Reinforces formal training for all court employees and utilizes the training activities created by the Court Education Specialists.
- Creates and maintains local work resources and job aids.
- Responsible for promoting and marketing resources.
- Works data integrity reports and tracks local district adherence.
- Serves as a district liaison with the State Court Administrator’s Office including Court Services, Court Education Specialists, the CORE Unit, and Distance Learning Units.
- Attends meetings and trainings as required including classes and conferences, on an ongoing basis, to maintain knowledge, skills, and awareness of legislative changes.
- Participates in all state Peer Training Specialist programs.
